This lot includes 4 prestige format Superman Elseworlds comics published by DC Comics between 1999 and 2003. Specific issues included are Last Son of Earth Nos. 1 and 2 from 2000 by Steve Gerber, Doug Wheatley and Chris Chuckry, wherein the classic Superman premise is reversed: Krypton survives, but Earth faces imminent destruction. Astrophysicist Jonathan Kent launches his infant son, Clark, into space to spare him, and Clark grows up to be a space-faring Green Lantern; the sequel one-shot Last Stand on Earth by the same creative team in 2003, wherein Earth has thrived thanks to Superman and Kryptonian technology, but Lex Luthor now threatens Krypton; and the one-shot War of the Worlds from 1999 by creators Roy Thomas and Michael Lark, which combines the Superman mythology with the events of H.G. Wells' science fiction novel. These issues are in used but very good condition.
